The action in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division started on Friday night as Bodmin Town recorded....

....a fourth league win in five outings with a 6-0 win away at Sticker in a game switched to Burngullow Lane.


Bodmin jumped three places to fifth ahead of the Saturday action whilst Sticker remain bottom of the table with just a single point from their opening nine matches so far.

 

Twenty-four hours later, Saltash United moved to within a point of leaders Falmouth Town with a 4-3 victory over the Amber & Blacks in a real seven-goal thriller at Kimberley Stadium.

 

Falmouth led 2-0 only for the Ashes to score the next four to go 4-2 up and then had to hang onto the win after the visitors reduced the arrears.

 

Sandwiched between those two are Plymouth Argyle reserves, who got back to winning ways after a midweek defeat as the Pilgrims beat Helston Athletic 3-0 at Coach Road and the top four is completed by Tavistock, who won 2-0 away at Cullompton Rangers.

 

Launceston claimed just a second win of the season and did so with a 5-2 victory away at Millbrook, whilst a trio of home sides picked up maximum points and were amongst the goals.

 

Torpoint Athletic had a 5-1 win over Camelford at The Mill, St Austell were 5-2 victors` over Elburton Villa at Poltair and Exmouth Town had a 4-0 verdict over Newquay at Southern Road.

 

One game ended all-square with Ivybridge Town collecting just their second point of the season from a 2-2 draw with visiting Godolphin Atlantic.
