.....table with Bashley moving in to second place after a two-goal win over Baffins Milton Rovers.

Christchurch gained their first point in four games with a 1-1 draw at fellow promoted side Tadley, leaving the home side in third place but Cowes Sports impressive start to the season faltered with a three-goal home defeat by Portland United, a victory that moves the Dorset side up to fourth place.

Alresford Town and Fareham Town fought out a goalless draw at Arlebury and there was another draw at Victoria Park where Bournemouth FC and Hamble Club finished with one goal and nine-men apiece - the latter affording little credit to any.

Lastly AFC Portchester finally found their shooting boots with an 8-1 demolition of Andover New Street that still leaves the visitors seeking their first point.

Dan Simmonds scored five for the home side - the first individual five-goal tally so far this season.

In Division One, Verwood Town still top the table, despite losing to a Jordan Matthews goal at Amesbury and Hythe & Dibden remain in second spot after defeating Follands 3-1 at Clayfields.

The rapidly-improving New Milton are now fourth after overcoming Romsey Town 3-1 and there were three points for Ringwood Town with a 4-1 defeat of Totton & Eling.

Fawley and Petersfield United shared two goals and the points on the Waterside but Andover Town went down again and, like Follands, are still seeking their first point.

Yet again the Portway side conceded an early goal with Newport going on to win by two goas to nil.

Finally, in the division an emotional afternoon at Downton saw the home side beat Whitchurch United 4-2 in their first game after the sad loss of Club stalwart Ian Drinkwater.

Four Division One clubs were involved in League Cup matches with US Portsmouth winning 4-3 at Laverstock, helped by a Mick Dark hat-trick, and East Cowes Vics, who until Saturday had been in fine form at home, going down 4-1 to Alton Town at Beatrice Road with Matt Bunyan notching two for the visitors.
