....manager Curtis Woodhouse has decided to stand down.

The former Sheffield FC, Goole AFC and Hull United manager played as a central midfielder and competed as a light-welterweight boxer.

He is the former British light-welterweight champion. His career in the Football League spanned across nine seasons, earning four caps for the England under-21s.

His previous clubs as a player include his beloved Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Peterborough United and Hull City.

A statement from club chairman Peter Smurthwaite on https://www.bridtownafc.com says that a change in Woodhouse's personal circumstances has led to his departure.

Smurthwaite explained: "He has recently opened his new Elite Boxing Academy in Driffield which will take up most of his time to make it a success.

"I take this opportunity to thank Curtis for his hard work as manager in the time he has been at the club and wish him every success with his new venture."

First-team coach Brett Agnew will be assisted by player-coach Anthony Bowsley in a caretaker management roll.

Woodhouse is the third NCEL manager to leave his post in less than week following Harrogate Railway Athletic's Brian Davey and Rossington Main's Duncan Milligan.
