More often than not, higher-level teams triumph on their own ground having earned a replay on their travels, but Hallmark Security League side Ashton United bucked that trend by winning 2-1 at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One West newcomers Morpeth Town.

The visitors took a 14th minute lead with a cracking goal from Marcus Cusani, who curled a superb free-kick from 30 yards into the top corner.

And they shocked the majority in the 307 crowd when they doubled their advantage in the 34th minute when Chris Bandell tucked home a rebound after Josh Nicholson’s cross had been blocked.

The north-east hosts gave themselves hope when they reduced the deficit in the 78th minute - Ashton sub Saul Guffogg conceding a penalty which Joe Walton converted – but the visitors held on and their reward is a plumb tie against Vanarama National League North side York City in the next round.

Bostik League Premier side Corinthian-Casuals haven`t managed a league win since achieving promotion and bowed out of the cup at former league rivals, now Bostik South East outfit Whyteleafe.

Casuals led at the break, thanks to a Dan Cunningham penalty just before the interval.

But an Eddie D`Sane spot-kick equaliser on the hour-mark pulled `Leafe level and D`Sane popped up with the home side`s winner in time added on at the end of the game.

There was drama in the replay at The Simplyhealth City Ground where Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South side Winchester City edged out Southern Premier South visitors Frome Town after extra-time.

Frome’s Kane Simpson and City’s Ty Mitford made it 1-1 before each side fluffed penalties.

The deadlock was finally broken 19 minutes into extra-time when Connor Cocklin headed home.

Mitford then hit the post before a floodlight failure had City fans frantically chewing their fingernails.

More drama followed after the stoppage when Frome skipper Ricky Scott was sent-off for a reckless challenge.

And Winchester held on to book a trip to Frome`s rivals Merthyr Town in the next round.

Southern League Division One South newcomers Street were beaten 4-1 at home by Toolstation Western Leaguers Plymouth Parkway.

Parkway`s scorers were Jordan Trott, Mike Smith and Adam Carter with two, sub Ed Butcher reducing the arrears.

The Cobblers task was made more difficult when skipper Ben Amghar received his marching orders for a second yellow card midway through the half.

Southern Counties East League side Beckenham Town suffered their first loss of the season in bowing out of their replay at Bostik Premier Walton Casuals.

Recent signing Taurean Roberts bagged a brace for Casuals after 14 and 35 minutes, with a third from Ron Sobowale making sure 17 minutes from time at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub.

Sydenhams Football Leafue (Wessex) Premier sides Sholing and Lymington Town are both through after replay wins.

Sholing won 1-0 at league rivals Hamworthy United with a 67th minute own goal settling the tie.

The Boatmen will now travel to National League South outfit Slough Town in the next round.

Lymington can look forward to tie with Slough`s league rivals Torquay United after a 2-1 win at Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier hosts Lydney Town.

Ashley Jarvis have the visitors a 54th minute lead from the penalty spot which Lewis Thomson cancelled out, but Jake King responded sent Lymington through with a header 3 minutes from time.

It wasn`t such good news for four other teams from lower divisions.

Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Histon suffered a 7-0 thrashing at their own Glassworld Stadium to managerless Southern League Premier Division King's Lynn Town.

Under caretaker-managers Neil Fryatt and Robbie Back, Lynn`s Ryan Hawkins netted a hat-trick in the first 45 minutes to kill off the Stutes.

Toby Hilliard, Craig Parker with two and Nathan Stewart wrapped up the scoring.

Essex Senior League side Saffron Walden Town exited at King`s Lynn`s league rivals St Ives Town.

Tom McGowan gave the hosts a first half lead but the visitors` cause wasn`t helped at all after a red card for Ashley Skeggs.

Second half goals from Jarvis Wilson and Sam Cartwright ensured the Saints went through.

Ebac Northern League First Division side Newcastle Benfield produced a brave performance before bowing out 5-3 at Northern Premier League Premier Division Workington AFC at Borough Park.

Scott Allison, loanee Max Brown and Sam Joel gave the Reds a 3-0 interval lead which Dale Pearson and Joe Robson cut.

But a Rhys Evans own goal and then Sheldon Mossop pushed Workington 5-2 up, rendering Dennis Knight`s third for Benfield as only a consolation.

Southern Combination League side Lancing bowed out 3-0 at home to Bostik South East side Phoenix Sports.

Jeff Duah-Kessie bagged a brace for Sports in the 22nd and 44th minutes, sandwiched by a 40th minute Lewis Clarke effort.

Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury FC are through after coming from behind to win 3-1 at Southern Division One South outfit Yate Town.

The Whites trailed to a 40thminute Josh Ford goal at the break but, after Chris Shephard had levelled from the penalty spot, goals by Jake Wannell and Lewis Benson took Steve Claridge`s side through.

There was controversy in the closing moments as both sides had two men sent-off – Salisbury’s Elliot Wheeler and Yate`s Darren Mullings getting their marching orders.

The Whites now travel to National League South strugglers Weston-super-Mare in the Second Qualifying Round.

Bostik North side Coggeshall Town won their replay 2-1 at Southern Division One Central hosts Berkhamsted with a brace from Ross Wall after 6 and 57 minutes – Courtney Massay having equalised a minute after the opener.

Hendon won the all-Bostik Premier replay 2-1 at Harlow Town, but not until after extra-time.

Romario Jonas looked to have won it for the Greens when he broke the deadlock 13 minutes from time.

But JJ Da Cruz equalised in stoppage time to take the tie into extra-time and 2 minutes from the end, Ricardo German sealed Hendon`s passage with a penalty winner.

The replay between Southern Division One Central side Kempston Rovers and Bostik South Central outfit Chalfont St Peter went all the way to penalties at Hillgrounds.

Josh Crawley gave the Walnut Boys an early 3rd minute lead that Adam Kirby`s penalty eventually cancelled out after 57 minutes.

Two minutes later, Charlie Mitchell had the Saints in front, and Ty Deacon equalised 9 minutes from time.

But when the hosts had Nathan Tshikuna dismissed with a straight red card 6 minutes later, it didn`t look good for extra-time.

But the ten-men held firm and took the tie to spot-kicks which they triumphed 4-1.

No luck either for Chalfont`s league rivals Northwood, who bowed out 3-1 at Gaywood Park against Southern Premier Division South side Kings Langley.

Mitchell Weiss bagged a brace for Kings in the 5th and 26th minutes, sandwiched by a Max Ryan goal on 22 minutes.

Miguel Lopes De Matos reduced the deficit 5 minutes after half-time, but Woods weren`t able to dent the scoreline any further.

Bostik South Central side Cheshunt`s hopes of causing an upset at Southern Premier Division Central Leiston looked slim as the Suffolk side led 2-0 at the break through Cemal Ramadan and a Christy Finch penalty.

But the Ambers battled back to level through Ricky Sappleton in the 57th and 60th minutes – the first from the spot – only for Jake Reed on 66 minutes and then sub Matt Blake a minute from time to win it for the hosts.

The all-Bostik South East replay saw Ramsgate win 3-1 at Sevenoaks Town, courtesy of goals from Jack Penny after 13 minutes, George Crimmen on 26 minutes and Aaron Milbank 7 minutes after half-time – Jack Miles having reduced the arrears on the half-hour mark.

Impressive Northern Premier League Premier Division Gainsborough Trinity are through after a stunning 8-2 victory over Southern Division One Central side Chasetown.

Ross Hannah, Ashley Worsfold and Shane Clarke put Trinity 3-0 up by half-time.

The Blues added another five in the second half through Worsfold, Simon Russell, Alex Byrne, Liam King and James O'Neill’s own goal before Chasetown pulled two goals back in the final 5 minutes.

Trinity`s league rivals Marine AFC surprised hosts and another NPL Premier side Scarborough Athletic by winning their replay at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Danny Mitchley, Dominic Reid and Craig Carney outgunned James Walshaw`s brace for Boro.

Bostik South Central side Marlow ousted Southern Division One Central visitors Aylesbury United after extra-time.

Max Hercules scored his first Aylesbury goal after Junaid Bell had given Marlow a 7th minute lead, but it wasn't enough to prevent the home side progressing, thanks to a late 108th penalty converted by Chris Ovenden.

But the drama didn`t end there as in the 120th and final minute, Marlow had Jack Kerrigan and Kameron English dismissed and the Ducks` Kieran Lataille joined them.

Southern Premier Division Central hosts Banbury United progressed at the expense of Southern Premier Division Weymouth at the Spencer Stadium.

A goal from Amer Awadh and a late penalty converted by Giorgio Rasulo saw United through.

Weymouth pulled one back deep into stoppage time at end of second half, but it was not enough to prevent United progressing to Second Qualifying Round and a home tie against National League South side Bath City.

There was better news for Weymouth`s league rivals and neighbours Dorchester Town, who won through against another Southern Premier South and Dorset rival, Wimborne Town.

Three goals in 18 second half minutes from Billy Lowes, Aaron Rodriguez and Luke Winsper gave the home Magpies their cup progress.

Another Southern Premier South side through are Basingstoke Town, who avoided a banana skin at the Camrose against Southern Division One South visitors Paulton Rovers.

However, it could have been different but for a crucial penalty save by Colm McAdden when 0-0.

Sam Deadfield and Zidan Akers scored after that to take `Stoke through.
