....Jefferson Louis and George Jeacock and the arrival of Michael Atkinson.
Atkinson joins from league rivals Basingstoke Town and plays in midfield, but he is versatile and able to cover a number of positions.
He has spent the majority of the early stages of this season trialling with Vanarama National League South side Woking and last term trialled with SkyBet Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers alongside twin brother Rob.
Manager Spencer Day told http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk: “Jefferson came to me this week and told me that with his promotion at work he was finding the travelling too much and impacting on both his professional and football life.
“He’s asked to be released from his contract, so he can play more locally and with the addition of Perry Coles I believed it was the right thing to do for both parties. I thank him for his brief time here and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
“George just wants to play, and I can’t guarantee him playing time with such a strong squad so having received a seven-day approach from Thatcham Town he’s decided to move on and again I wish him all the best as a cracking lad.
“Michael has joined from Basingstoke, subject to acceptance of paperwork which has been agreed by all parties, although he’s mainly been on trial at Conference South clubs this season.
“When I was approached with the possibility of getting him I jumped at the chance as he has been a stand-out performer at this level for a couple of years and attracted much Football League interest. When he gets match sharp he will be a great addition to our squad.
“He is not available for Lewes in the FA Cup or the Hampshire Cup tie next week as agreed with his previous club.
“With injuries and unavailabilities slowly starting to clear up with have a great squad of 20 players to choose from as we look forward to our FA Cup replay at Lewes but after which I will need to look at getting the numbers down to a more manageable number both on the pitch and financially”. |
