.....League Division One West club to join SkyBet League Two side Crawley Town as member of new manager Gabrielle Cioffi’s backroom team.
Rooney who worked full-time with Fleetwood Town, joined the Rams in the summer and has been a key member of Mark Fell’s backroom team and the manager admitted it’s going to be big boots for someone to fill.
He told http://www.rammyunited.co.uk: “We’re gutted to lose Nathan but absolutely understand you cannot turn down the sort of opportunity he has at Crawley. The fact he has been successful in getting this post is testament to the quality of coach that he is, and he’s had a big influence on the lads in his short time with us.”
Rooney was quick to thank the Rams for facilitating his brief but enjoyable stay: “I want to thank Mark fell for giving me the opportunity to come and work at such a prestigious non-league club with such a great set of lads and staff. Every player trains and plays to their maximum each week and they have been a pleasure to be around even though it’s only been a short period. To the chairman and the Board, I wish you all the success in the world and all your hard work is evident in and off the pitch. Best of luck for the rest of the season. Believe in yourselves and work together as I feel you are a very talented group of players”. |
