Matt Challoner grabbed his first of the season to put the home in the lead after 21 minutes, before a penalty from Adam Blakeman doubled the advantage just 7 minutes later.

Bobby Johnson hit back with a stunning effort in the 33rd minute, but a second Blakeman penalty on the hour-mark secured the points.

Kidderminster Harriers are the only other unbeaten team in the division and maintained that record with an impressive 3-0 win at Bootham Crescent against York City in front of a crowd of 2,404.

A brace by Ed Williams after 12 and 45 minutes and Joe Ironside’s effort 10 minutes after the break secured the points for the visitors as City`s caretaker boss Sam Collins suffered his first defeat during four matches at the helm.

AFC Telford United are third but had to be content with one point from their 1-1 draw against Stockport County at the New Bucks Head.

But it could have been worse for the Bucks as they trailed to Connor Dimaio`s 33rd minute opener right until the 88th minute when Henry Cowans popped up with the home side`s equaliser in front of 1,415.

Nuneaton Borough remain bottom after going down to defeat number six at the Brewery Field against Spennymoor Town.

There were two penalties awarded inside the opening 4 minutes, with Glen Taylor giving the home side the lead and on-loan Dior Angus equalising.

Rob Ramshaw then put Moors in front again right on the half-time whistle.

Twelve minutes after the break, Andrew Johnson made it 3-1 and Boro were unable to dent the scoreline further.

FC United of Manchester remain second-bottom after losing 3-0 to improving Guiseley AFC at Nethermoor Park.

The Lions are coming to terms with the division following two opening defeats and are now eight unbeaten, thanks to goals from Will Hatfield after 28 minutes and then a Rowan Liburd brace after 47 and 62 minutes.

It`s three successive draws for third-bottom Southport after a 0-0 outcome at the Merseyrail Community Stadium against Darlington.

Blyth Spartans are also struggling to get going this season and suffered a seventh defeat in ten games at Croft Park against Leamington.

Jack Edwards gave the Brakes the boost of an early 5th minute Jack Edwards opener.

And on 32 minutes, Kieran Dunbar doubled the visitors lead – a lead they kept hold of.

Hereford FC`s first game without Peter Beadle at the helm ended in a 2-0 defeat at Edgar Street to fellow newcomers Ashton United, for whom this was a second win in ten games.

Matty Chadwick proved to be the Robins` hero with a brace in the 16th and 20th minutes in front of a largely disappointed 2,195.

Altrincham, who came back up with Ashton, edged a best-of-five win at the Horsfall Stadium against fourth-placed Bradford Park Avenue.

Tom Peers gave the visitors a 6th minute lead that Shane Killock levelled 6 minutes before the break.

Conor Branson then put Avenue in front 7 minutes after the interval, only for John Johnston to equalise within 3 minutes.

Max Harrop`s goal just past the hour-mark proved to be Alty`s winner.

Boston United’s topsy-turvy season continues as the Pilgrims suffered a 2-0 defeat by Chester FC at the Jakemans Stadium.

After bossing the first half they were second best after the break, the Blues taking the points thanks to Steve Howson after 51 minutes and Dan Mooney on the hour-mark.

Boston have now last four of their last five matches.

James Armson put Brackley Town in front at the Tameside Stadium against Curzon Ashton after 33 minutes.

Ollie Crankshaw eventually pulled the Nash back on level terms with 10 minutes remaining.
