....Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division table with a comfortable 3-0 win at the DCJ Group Insurance Arena.

In front of 530, goals from Gavin Cogdon after 39 minutes and Josh Gillies 3 minutes later, gave Shields a 2-0 interval lead.

David Foley made sure the points went back to the north-east with a third goal after 56 minutes.

Bamber Bridge may be down in mid-table, but they had yet to be beaten since being promoted as they headed to Stalybridge Celtic.

But the Bower Fold outfit inflicted a first defeat on Brig, running out 3-2 winners.

Matty Wolfenden gave Celtic a great start with a goal inside the opening 2 minutes.

Kieran Charnock levelled within 5 minutes but Scott Bakkor restored the home side`s lead right on the stroke of half-time.

Neil Kengni made it 3-1 with 65 minutes gone on the clock, and although Ryan White replied within 2 minutes, Brig were unable to find a leveller.

Warrington Town, Buxton, Grantham Town, Gainsborough Trinity and Scarborough Athletic have all only suffered one defeat to date.

And all won again on Saturday, apart from Gainsborough, who were held to a 0-0 draw at Wincham Park by Witton Albion.

Warrington had a 1-0 win at Cantilever Park against Marine AFC, courtesy of Jack Mackreth`s 16th minute penalty, while Buxton enjoyed a more emphatic 4-1 home win over Stafford Rangers.

Jude Oyibo after 21 minutes, a Diego De Girolamo brace on 31 and 39 minutes and Alex Brown on 42 minutes had the Bucks in total command at half-time.

Josh Green `won` the second half for Rangers with the only reply after 64 minutes.

Grantham left it late before recording a 1-0 win at The Meres against Hyde United, with Jack McGovern`s penalty conversion coming just 3 minutes from time.

A crowd of 1,068 at the Flamingo Land Stadium saw Scarborough inflict a fourth defeat in eight on fellow promotees Basford United.

Baily Gooda gave Boro the lead after 26 minutes – the only goal of the opening period – and then 5 minutes into the second half, Michael Coulson added the home side`s second.

Nathan Watson pulled Basford back into the game after 75 minutes, but just 3 minutes later, Scarborough restored their two-goal advantage with a Coulson spot-kick.

Managerless Lancaster City are still looking for that elusive first win after sharing a 0-0 draw with relegated North Ferriby United at the Giant Axe.

Nantwich Town enjoyed a comfortable 4-1 win at the Weaver Stadium against Whitby Town.

There was only Jamie Lawrie`s 23rd minute goal for the Dabbers separating the teams at half-time.

Lawrie then doubled his and Nantwich`s tally 6 minutes after the break, only for Junior Mondal to give the Seasiders hope with a 58th minute penalty.

But Joe Mwasile after 71 minutes and Nathan Cottrell 2 minutes from time sealed the Dabbers win.

A goal from Ben Turner after 33 minutes eventually proved enough for Farsley Celtic at Throstle Nest against Mickleover Sports, while Lewis Archer had Hednesford Town one-up at Keys Park against Workington AFC 9 minutes into the second half.

Jed Davies` spot-kick on 65 minutes sealed the Pitmen`s win.
