....changes unless there was an improvement in performances and results.
Baker was less than
amused by the performance at Parkgate last Wednesday night when Blues drew
their Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying round tie 2-2.
He told the Stoke
Sentinel: “It was not good enough, we certainly didn’t do enough to win it
which is disappointing. We started well enough, but then soon ran out of ideas.
There was no creativity. I keep saying we are better than what we are
producing, but I can only say that for so long.
“The players have to
prove it. At the moment it is not happening, but I can’t wait forever. I may
have to do something about it and I will be looking for a big improvement on
Saturday."
Well, he got just
that as Leek convincingly won 4-0.
Baker welcomed
defender Lewis Short back to the club and he started at right-back on Saturday.
Short was signed
from JD Welsh Premier side Bala Town in the close season, but after playing in
a couple of friendlies was offered terms by Vanarama National League North side
Chorley.
However, Blues
retained his NPL registration and he returned to Harrison Park, initially on loan,
after failing to break into the unbeaten Magpies starting line-up. |
