Adams is a former Highgate United, Bartley Green Illey and Pershore Town midfielder who returned to the club for a second spell late last season.

The new boss has moved quickly to appoint Ryan Faulkner as his number two - both will take a step back from playing duties to look after first-team affairs.

Adams is also in the process of finalising his coaching staff before he takes training tomorrow evening.

Chairman Tony Round told http://www.feckenhamfc.co.uk: “Myself and Phil Tattersall met with Jordan last week and were impressed by what he had to say and his plans for the team.

“He’s been at the club a number of years and understands what we’re trying to achieve in the long term and has played a massive part himself, on the pitch, in what we’ve achieved so far.

“He comes from a footballing family, so he’ll have a lot of experienced heads to call on for advice should he need it and with Ryan alongside him we believe the changing room is in good hands.

“It’s been a tough few weeks having to change managers but now we’ve appointed we can look forward to the next chapter and start building on the foundations that have been laid at the club.

“I must also put on record our thanks to Luke Evans who took charge in the interim. It’s always a tough situation to be in and although results didn’t go his way he’s handle the situation superbly.”

Adams said: “I’m very excited to get started in my first management role especially at this club. However, I am very aware of the size of the challenge ahead and that it isn’t going to be all plain sailing. That being said it is a task I very much look forward to rising too.

“Obviously, it’s been a difficult start to the season and you can see from the last few games we are shipping far too many goals. So it’s a case of coming in and tightening up defensively to stop the rot. That will then give us the right platform we need to build on.

“We’ve got a really good core group at the club who were part of a successful season last year, we want to keep those and bring some new players in to freshen it up and replace the quality we’ve lost from last year.

“Long-term, I firmly believe that this club can be successful. That means challenging at the top end of our division and in all competitions for that matter.

“If we can keep the core group we have and add bits of quality to add to it, I think those ambitions can be met but we won’t be getting carried away.

“We want to encourage the lads to play a nice brand of football but we are firmly aware that sometimes in this division you have to be able to mix it up at times. Taking that into account, we’ll be asking the lads to play in the right areas and make right choices when it’s not.

Firstly, we need to be hard to beat as that will give us the platform to go and play the more attractive stuff in forward areas.

“First and foremost, I’m a football person and I’m involved for all the right reasons, I’ve been involved with the club for a number of years now, I know it inside out.

“I have massive hunger and desire to be successful here. I’m a very passionate person, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I think this will permeate itself throughout the players and staff at the club. Leadership comes naturally to me and I won’t be afraid to make big decisions.”

Adams’ first game in charge will be a journey to the Recreation Ground to face Fairfield Villa on Saturday.
