.....last weekend, returned to winning ways on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory at bottom-markers and as yet win-less Bedworth United.
The visiting Puritans were handed the boost of an early 6th-minute goal when home `keeper Dan Crane passed the ball out his area straight to Amer Awadh, who drew the keeper before passing the ball to Ravi Shamsi who tapped into the open goal.
But the Greenbacks were level within 7 minutes when experienced Iyseden Christie found the back of the net from 10 yards out.
Banbury regained the lead after 22 minutes with Shamsi again the scorer with a fine volley.
There were no more goals at the Oval until the 87th minute when Banbury wrapped up the points as Shamsi completed his first hat-trick in senior football.
Tuesday`s only other league game saw newly-promoted Alvechurch and fifth-placed Stourbridge share a goalless draw at Lye Meadow.
In front of a crowd of 347, the Glassboys just about edged it in terms of goalscoring opportunities, but `Church defended well and showed they have adapted well to the higher level. |
