....penalty shoot-out in the Durham Challenge Cup on Tuesday night.

Bishops took the lead after 5 minutes when Scott Oldfield put through his own goal, but Lawyers fought back and levelled through Scott Lowery on 66 minutes.

But Bishops kept their cool to win the shoot-out 5-3.

Newton Aycliffe and Willington drew 0-0 in their tie, with Aycliffe winning 5-3 on penalties.

Esh Winning had a good 2-0 away win at Washington.

Jayven Redman and Tony Boakes scored twice in 3 minutes in the first half.

On Wednesday night, Consett went top of the First Division table with a 4-3 win at Stockton Town to preserve their unbeaten record.

Freddie Woodhouse put Stockton ahead from close range after 5 minutes from a James Risbrough cross, but Michael Sweet broke clear and levelled for Stockton on the half-hour mark.

Sweet set up Michael Mackay to fire Consett into the lead on the hour-mark, but Nathan Mulligan equalised from the penalty spot.

However, Sweet restored Consett’s lead with a low shot, but Stockton levelled again on 80 minutes through Adam Nicholson from a corner.

But Consett won it with a minute left with a 25 yarder by Aksel Juul

In the Durham Challenge Cup, Brandon United lost 3-0 at home to Silksworth, for whom Harry Monday (2) and Adam Storey scored.

Crook Town lost 4-1 at home to Sunderland Ryhope CW, who took the lead with two goals by Shaun Pickford by the 10th minute.

Andrew Lonsdale pulled a goal back for Crook, but James Ellis scored twice more for Ryhope before half-time.
