The 20-year old former Swindon Town player will link up with the Romans, who are managed by ex-Cheltenham player Jerry Gill, in time for their Buildbase FA Cup Second Qualifying Round match against Banbury United on Saturday.

Smith joined Cheltenham during the summer having impressed during a loan spell at Bath from Swindon last season and has so far made one substitute appearance for the first-team, in the Carabao Cup against Colchester United last month.

“This is a great opportunity for Tom to get some first-team football,” Cheltenham manager Michael Duff told https://www.ctfc.com. “He is going to a club I know well and a manager I know well so we will keep a close eye on his progress until January.”

“We have a large squad at the moment, so we will be looking for one or two other players to go out on loan in the next couple of weeks.”
