There were a number of upsets in Saturday`s Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round.

But one, the tie between Vanarama National League South club Hungerford Town and Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Wantage Town at Bulpit Lane, had to be abandoned after 73 minutes due to a serious injury to home goalkeeper Jokull Andresson.

The Reading loanee had to be taken away by ambulance – the delay meaning the referee had little alternative but to call a halt to the game.

Arguably the biggest shock of the day came at the Jakemans Stadium where National League North side Boston United were dumped out by Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One East outfit Peterborough Sports.

The Pilgrims’ woeful form has seen them lose five of their last six games, but nothing should be taken away from the visitors, who earned their place in the next round for the first time ever with a battling performance.

Josh Moreman and Josh McCammon were the matchwinners, condemning the hosts to their fourth 2-0 home defeat in a row.

Bostik League Premier side Worthing progressed into the Third Qualifying Round with a 2-1 victory at Melbourne Community Stadium against National League South hosts Chelmsford.

Worthing took the lead on 20 minutes when James Crane met Jesse Starkey's corner to head home.

The hosts equalised through Chris Whelpdale 6 minutes into the second half but Worthing were back in front on 76 minutes when Crane turned the ball home from another set-piece.

Worthing`s league rivals Whitehawk also won on National League South hosts soil, beating East Thurrock United by the odd goal in five.

These two were league rivals last season before the Hawks were relegated and the Rocks were also dumped out of the FA Cup by the same opponents last term, ironically by the same scoreline!

The Hawks took the lead on 13 minutes through Jason Williams.

Ten minutes before half-time Roman Michael-Percil broke through and struck the equaliser.

The visitors` Lucas Rodrigues blasted against the crossbar and Rocks were to take advantage after 62 minutes when a defensive mistake saw Freddy Moncur strike home his first for the club.

Five minutes later the Hawks levelled through Henry Muggeridge and added a third 12 minutes from the end when Williams bagged his second of the game.

Evo-Stik Southern Premier League Premier Division Central club Stourbridge, who have become accustomed to causing sup upsets in recent years, produced another by ousting National League North side Leamington from the competition at the War Memorial Ground.

The home side broke the deadlock a minute into the second half when Rob Thompson-Brown`s cross was deflected past his own `keeper by Jack Lane.

And they doubled their advantage on 70 minutes when Leon Broadhurst`s 149th goal for the Glassboys made it 2-0 with a spectacular 40-yard effort!

Ten minutes later, Matt Stenson reduced the deficit and then on 86 minutes, Jamie Hood looked to have earned the Brakes a replay.

But Kaiman Anderson grabbed a dramatic stoppage time winner for Stourbridge.

Perhaps the most amazing `upset` came at the LTAA where Southern Premier Division Central side Leiston were beaten by Bostik League South East visitors Hastings United, who ended the game with only EIGHT-men!

Hastings got off to a flying start as Daniel Ajakaiye gave them a 5th minute lead - his 15th goal already this season.

Leiston equalised 9 minutes later, though, when Joe Jefford struck from a corner of their own and went 2-1 up 5 minutes after that through Matt Blake.

It was 2-2 at half-time after Sam Adams got Hastings back on terms in the 30th minute.

The tie seemed to be swinging Hastings’ way as the visitors struck in the 52nd and 55th minutes to lead 4-2.

Kelvin Ogboe put Hastings ahead and shortly afterwards Adams gave them a two-goal cushion by converting a penalty for his second of the afternoon.

Barely 2 minutes later, however, Adams was donning the goalkeeper’s gloves after Charlie Horlock was sent-off for deliberate handball outside the area.

Leiston pulled one back in the 68th minute via Blake’s second of the match and 8 minutes later Hastings were reduced to nine-men as Sam Cruttwell was shown his second yellow card.

Hastings were then forced to survive 6 minutes of stoppage time, during which Jamie Fielding was also given a second yellow card, but the eight-men somehow held out for a remarkable victory.
