Two penalty saves by Nick Bennion ensured Aylesbury FC came away with a point from a 0-0 home draw with leaders Bromsgrove Sporting.

The first came as John Pykett was felled by Bennion himself, the result being a firmly struck shot by Richard Gregory to the keeper's left that was palmed out.

The second, in the final minute of 4 added on, came courtesy of a handball by Lewis Strafford. Up stepped Gregory, who aimed for a similar place, but it was the same outcome, with his rebound also kept out by Bennion.

No goals there, but six at Yarnton Road where Kidlington suffered a sixth successive defeat, this time 5-1 at home to Dunstable Town.

Arel Amu netted a hat-trick for the Duns – completing it from the spot – with Dan Trif and a Saul Williams penalty making it a nap hand, Jamie Calvin replying for Kidlington.

Newcomers Yaxley enjoyed the best of a seven-goal thriller at Creasey Park against AFC Dunstable.

Matt Sparrow gave the Cuckoos a 33rd minute lead that Charlie Clayton and then Ryan Frater overtook.

Kyle Nolan equalised just past the hour-mark and Sparrow`s second made it 3-2 just 3 minutes later.

Dan Cotton added the visitors` fourth making it three goals in 7 minutes, with BJ Christie`s spot-kick 15 minutes from time making it a nervy finale.

Ryan Sharman`s goal 18 minutes from time saw Cambridge City to victory at new boys Welwyn Garden City, while it finished 2-2 between Coleshill Town and Thame United in the day`s other game.

The home side led through Reece Leek`s 14th minute effort and then Liam Molesworth doubled that lead 10 minutes later.

Thame`s day looked over when they had Dan James sent-off after 64 minutes, but that seemed to lift the visitors and Liam Tack reduced the deficit in the 88th minute and then 5 minutes into stoppage time, Marcus Mealing earned the ten-men a point.
