Described by new manager Grant Black as: “Quick, strong and a good finisher”, 21-year-old striker Day (pictured) joins from Vanarama National League side Harrogate Town.
Day began his career with loan spells at Wetherby Athletic and Harrogate Railway before being given the opportunity within the Harrogate Town first-team in the 2016/17 season.
Additionally, Day has gained experience at Alfreton Town and Ossett Town respectively.
Black struggled to contain his excitement over the new signing as he told his club`s website: “We are over the moon to get Marcus Day. He has been in and around the National League North at Harrogate and we had him on loan when we got into the play-offs at Ossett Town and did great.
“He’s a great lad who will fit into the kind of dressing room we will create, and we can’t wait to get working with Marcus again.”
Cameron Clark also signed to become a Nailer.
Clark is a left-back who last season played for Athersley Recreation in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League and was previously with Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Despite having no experience at this level of football, Black spoke highly on the left-back when he said: “I have been an admirer of him for a while now and I am confident he will make the step up comfortably. A few teams have approached him to do so, so we are happy he has chosen Belper and is another player we feel will help us achieve what we are looking to do”. |
