Fox took charge of
Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Armthorpe Welfare - a defeat that leaves them in
the bottom two.
But, he had informed
the club of his resignation in midweek, giving the Steelmen time to line up a
replacement.
Chairman Albert
Dudill said: "The morning after last week's Emirates FA Cup replay at Leek
Town, Billy Fox informed me of his decision to step down as manager of Parkgate
Football Club.
"Billy kindly
agreed to take the team for Saturday's home game against Armthorpe Welfare to
ensure that we were able to field a competitive side.
"I would like
to thank Billy for his efforts as our manager under extremely difficult
circumstances, and everyone at Parkgate FC wishes him well for the future.
"In agreeing to
take the team today, Billy has allowed us the time to appoint a successor.
"Therefore, we
are announcing tonight that Andy Dawson will take over as Parkgate FC manager
with immediate effect. Andy's assistant-manager will be Lee Whitehead.” |
