The Highwaymen edged out Lincoln United at Craik Park – their eighth straight league win.

The game was decided in the 69th minute when David Carson curled home the winning goal.

Gresley FC are now third after a 3-2 win at third-bottom Pickering Town.

The Moatmen, who struggled last season, took the lead right on the stroke of half-time through Kane Lee and then extended that 8 minutes into the second period, thanks to a Martin Smyth penalty.

Kieran O`Connell made it 3-0 just 4 minutes later, but the Pikes made them sweat by pulling two back from Joe Danby after 69 minutes and Josh Greening 4 minutes later.

Merged Ossett United could have gone second had they won at AFC Mansfield, but the Bulls held them to a 1-1 draw.

Karl Jones gave United a 15th minute lead that Kieran Wells cancelled out on 66 minutes.

Spalding United are still without a league win in 2018/19 after losing 2-1 at Westfield Lane against a Frickley Athletic side who had lost their previous four games.

But the Blues had a new hero in sub Lewis Szanto, who bagged a late brace in the 82nd and 89th minutes after Luke White had given the Tulips a 61st minute lead.

Spalding`s neighbours Wisbech Town are also finding it tough after promotion and were beaten 4-1 in the Fens by Tadcaster Albion.

Billy Whitehouse gave Taddy the lead after 22 minutes, only for Michael Frew to equalise on the half-hour mark.

Aiden Savory then restored the visitors` lead right on half-time and extended it on 66 minutes, with Casey Stewart adding a fourth just 3 minutes from time.

Stamford AFC returned to winning ways after two defeats, beating a Brighouse Town side who started the day in third place.

Brad Fortnam-Tomlinson gave the Daniels a great start at the Zeeco with a 3rd minute opener.

Chris Salt added a second 10 minutes later, with Tom Haigh reducing the arrears in the 28th minute.

Grant Ryan made it 3-1 in the 38th minute, and although Aaron Martin pulled a second back for the Yorkshire side 20 minutes from time, they weren`t able to find a leveller.

Belper Town enjoyed a 2-0 win at Bracken Moor against Stocksbridge Park Steels with goals from Ricky Parlour after 35 minutes and Nathan Curtis in the 69th minute, while Steels` neighbours Sheffield FC fared better, winning 1-0 at Carlton Town, thanks to a Mitchell Dunne effort after 68 minutes.

A see-saw encounter at Loughborough Dynamo saw Pontefract Collieries share a 3-3 draw.

Karl Demidh scored the only first half goal for Dynamo and then 3 minutes into the second half, Mike Dunn levelled.

Luke Thorogood restored Dynamo`s lead after 63 minutes, only for Glyn Cotton to equalise within 2 minutes.

This time it was Colls` who took the lead just 2 minutes later, with a Demidh penalty earning the hosts a point 13 minutes from time.
