.....Premier League Division One West club by signing a contract.

Steele, who is only 18 has become Castle`s sixth player to sign a contract with with all contracted players very young at either 18, 19 or 20 years of age which bodes well for the future.

Steele has impressed after signing from Port Vale and his versatility has seen him play as right-back, left-back and as a central midfield player already this season.

Manager Robin van der Laan told http://www.newcastletownfc.co.uk: “James is a mature and powerful player with a great engine who is not afraid to mixed it up when the going gets tough and can play with a lot of quality when we need him to.

“He will be a great addition to the squad long-term and he is someone we feel could go and play higher if he can continue his progress with us.”

More good news for Castle as Mike Conlon also signed a contract with the club.

Conlon, who joined in pre-season, is the latest former Port Vale player to sign terms after a string of impressive performances.

Conlon made it a double celebration as he also received the Bowland Brewery player of the month award from club Director Terry Donlon and manager Robin van der Laan for his contribution to the team in September.

Van der Laan said: "We are delighted to tie Mikey down to the club long-term. He is a player with lots of speed and quality and is a big part of our long-term plan for the development of the squad".
