....freshened up his attacking options with the capture of striker Cameron Johnson.
Johnson met his new team-mates at The Lamb prior to training on Thursday evening, before signing on the dotted line.
A combative 21-year-old attacker who can also operate wide, Johnson joins up with Greene for a third time, having previously worked under him at both Vanarama National League North side Boston United and their United Counties League Premier Division neighbours Boston Town.
Johnson's prolific spell of 13 goals in 15 appearances in the second half of last season resulted in a move to UCL Premier outfit Deeping Rangers, but his stay there was a brief one, as he wished to test himself again at a higher level.
He goes straight into today's matchday squad.
Following the capture of Johnson, as well as the recent arrivals of Jordan Gough, Charlie Jemson, Stefan Moore, and Keegan Townrow, there will inevitably be some departures in order to keep within the playing budget. The first of these is Lewis Wright, who has served the club extremely well in a short stay since joining this summer.
It was felt that the opportunity for Wright to start games would be limited, and therefore he has been released in order to seek regular first-team football elsewhere. |
