....Canvey Island ahead of Saturday`s disappointing Buildbase FA Trophy exit.

Gilbey signed for Canvey from Vanarama National League South side East Thurrock United in January 2016 as a midfielder but has gone on to an attacking role, scoring 21 times last season, seeing his side making the play-offs.

He won the players' and supporters' player of the year awards and also named in the Bostik North team of the year.

Overall, he made 139 appearances for the Gulls, scoring 25 goals.

However, Gilbey is a familiar face at Chadfields as he played five times for the club in 2013/14 season, scoring twice.

Gilbey made his debut for the Dockers in the 4-1 defeat to Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central outfit Bedford Town on Saturday.
