.....night after going down to a 4-2 Nyewood Lane defeat to Folkestone Invicta – the Rocks first league defeat of the season to date.
It was a night to forget for the home side, who were all over the place defensively in the opening 45 minutes.
Defensive errors gave Invicta a 3-1 interval lead with goals from Ade Yusuff with two and Kane Rowland – Jimmy Muitt replying - and it got worse when the visitors converted a close-range free-kick to go 4-1 up through Sam Hasler midway through the second period - Tommy Scutt netting a second for the Rocks 9 minutes from time.
Much better news for Bognor`s Sussex rivals Lewes, who hammered AFC Hornchurch 5-1 on their own patch.
The Rooks raced into a 3-0 interval lead with goals from Leon Redwood, Steve Brinkhurst and Omarr Lawson.
George Purcell`s 51st minute penalty reduced the arrears, but Ronnie Conlon on 71 minutes and Jonte Smith a minute from time sealed a nap hand for the visitors.
Another Sussex outfit, Burgess Hill Town, suffered a first defeat under their caretaker-managers in losing 1-0 at the Green Elephant Stadium against Wingate & Finchley, whose Reece Beckles-Richards scored the only goal 5 minutes into the second half.
The Hillians remain bottom.
Tuesday`s other game saw Enfield Town and Brightlingsea Regent share a 0-0 draw at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium. |
