Young
terminated his contract with Vanarama National League side Havant & Waterlooville
last week after a four-year stay.
He is a vastly
experienced non-League keeper who ended a seven-year tenure with AFC Telford
United in 2014 by helping them to the Conference North title.
He was part
of the Hednesford Town side that won the FA Trophy in 2004 and has also played
for Chasetown, Nuneaton Borough and Hucknall Town.
He made an
immediate impact after joining the Hawks in August 2014, scoring a goal with an
upfield clearance against Bath City five games into the season.
Young was
virtually an ever-present in Lee Bradbury's side that won back-to-back
promotions into the National League.
However, the
38-year-old lost his place between the posts to Ben Dudzinski and decided he
needs to be playing regular football.
Young has
swiftly moved to the Royals and is set to make his debut against Brockenhurst at
the Crest Finance Stadium tomorrow.
