The 21-year-old joins the Robins after spending time in American paying for Eastern Florida State College and has previously had spells at both Notts County and Basford United.

Fyfe told http://www.ilkestontownfc.co.uk: “I am buzzing.

“I can’t wait to get the shirt on and show everyone what I can do.

“What the club is trying to achieve with the players that they have got attracted my interest.

“I almost joined the club last season, but I had already signed my papers to go to America when they approached me.

“But this time I had the chance to join the club and it was too good an opportunity to turn down.”

Fyfe, who has been down at the New Manor Ground to watch some home games this season, has also been impressed with what he has seen from the fans.

“Everyone knows the support at Ilkeston is phenomenal.

“It cannot be matched in the Midlands.

“I have been there when the fans are signing and shouting. It feels like you are at a professional game, it is great that people treat it that way.”

On a personal note, the midfielder has got his own targets but also acknowledges the bigger picture and what the team are trying to achieve over the course of the season.

“I want to score as many goals as I can and pick up assists for my team-mates, he said.

“I am a player that comes alive in the final third and I feel I have the ability to make things happen for the team. I want to show this to the fans and provide them with good performances.

“But the most important thing for me and the club is to win the league and hopefully have a good cup run.”

Earlier, McIntosh returned to one of his former clubs, Buxton, to sign goalkeeper Jan Budtz on dual registration.

The 39-year-old joins as cover for Liam Mitchell, who has a broken toe.

The experienced keeper signed for Buxton in the summer of 2016 from Gainsborough Trinity, with whom he has spent three of the previous four seasons as first-choice goalkeeper either side of a spell with Worksop Town.

An imposing 6'4" tall, he became the Silverlands club's first Danish player and turned out in his homeland for B 1909 Odense and FC Nordsjaelland before joining Doncaster Rovers and making a memorable debut in a Carling Cup tie.

With Andy Warrington, himself a future Buxton 'keeper, injured, Budtz went on as substitute and saved the penalties which contributed to Manchester City's defeat and earned him Sky TV's man-of-the-match award.

As well as playing later for Hartlepool United, he had loan spells with Wolves and then Oldham Athletic before moving into non-League football with Eastwood Town and Stalybridge Celtic.

Had a tremendous first season with the Bucks, keeping 17 clean sheets in 50 appearances, and made his 100th appearance for the club in the last game of last season at Whitby Town.
