The 20-year-old joins after training with the first-team squad recently.

Spending eleven years at Birmingham City, the West Midlands-based player made the switch to Peterborough United in May 2017.

Most recently he had a short-term loan deal at National League side Solihull Moors and then decided that a move away from the Posh was in his best interests.

Liam Watson told https://southportfc.net: "His attitude since joining us has been first-class and those from Peterborough speak really highly of him. Josh will provide some strong competition and is another young player with potential that has impressed since coming into the club”.
