Primarily a right-sided defender, Thomas is also capable of playing on the left and as a wing-back.

He began his career on the books of Walsall before turning out for Quorn and then a month with Loughborough Dynamo before joining Corby Town in September 2013 where he stayed until June 2016 when he joined Boston United.

At Corby, he helped the Steelmen win the Southern League in 2014/15 but was still there when they were relegated at the end of the 2015/16 season.

He made 34 appearances for the Pilgrims scoring once before moving onto Solihull Moors in May 2017 where he made six appearances before leaving by mutual consent and joining Kettering Town in December 2017.

He went on to make 22 appearances for the Poppies, including one at The Walks where he was sent-off for a late tackle on Michael Gash in Lynn's 2-1 win.
