Shots boss Gary Waddock told https://www.theshots.co.uk: “Dan leaves with our best wishes. Unfortunately, the travelling was becoming too much for him and both parties agreed that this would be the best move, we wish him well with his future endeavours.”

Holman made 13 appearances this season, scoring once in memorable fashion against Bromley at the EBB Stadium and had also played for the club in a previous loan spell back in the 2014/15 season.

The Northampton-born striker helped fire Cheltenham Town to the National League championship in 2015/16, scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances in the second half of a season in which he also scored 14 goals in a loan spell at Woking.

Holman first came to prominence with 60 goals in 77 games for United Counties League side Long Buckby, a record which, in 2011, prompted a move to then-Conference North side Histon, for whom he scored 29 goals in one season.

Braintree Town then paid an undisclosed fee for Holman, and a further 25 goals at Cressing Road brought a move into League One with Colchester United.
