....Mitchell Parker from Uhlsport Hellenic Leagbue Premier Division side Reading City.

The 24-year-old steps up after being monitored by the Camrose outfit over the early stages of the season.

Hearing that he had decided to leave Reading City, `Stoke made their move on this talented young striker.

Having already scored 19 goals in just 11 games this season, he also boasts an England C call up where he will represent in an ambassadorial trip to play two games in the Falkland Islands.

Manager Jason Bristow told http://btfc.co.uk: “Mitchell is a born goalscorer. His goals per game ratio is quite incredible and we are hoping he can make the step up and get a similar return at this level.

“He showed a real want to come here and it’s been quite an easy process, whilst we know there was a lot of interest from other clubs, I think this club is a really good fit for him. He’ll join an already impressive front line that we have here and whilst he knows there are parts of his game we are going to work on, he is going to be a valuable asset to us this year and hopefully a long time after.”

Parker`s goal ratio stands at a total of 68 goals in just 56 appearances across the last three seasons.

Parker, who previously turned out for Flackwell Heath and Hayes & Yeading United, said: “I wanted to sign for Basingstoke as they have the same ambition as I have.

“I want to help Basingstoke push forward and continue to improve my game in the process.

“I’m extremely excited to get going, I’ll always do my best to help the team push as high as we possibly can”.
