With the game at Ironmould Lane headed towards a goalless draw, Harry Horton’s late corner was fired home by Jack Taylor to hand Bridgy their tenth league victory of the campaign.
Shepton Mallet are up into eighth, with their latest three points coming, thanks to a 4-0 triumph over Chipping Sodbury Town.

Wellington gained revenge for their Les Phillips Cup defeat earlier this season, surviving a red card on their way to a 2-1 victory at home to Clevedon Town.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Connor Pengelly capitalised on a loose ball to double Wellington’s lead, before Lucas Vowles converted a late spot kick for the visitors.
A strong finish from Odd Down handed them a 4-1 win away at bottom side Shortwood United, with Josh Williams scoring twice to add to goals from Brandon Benjamin and Ollie Webb in the victory which was under threat following Jamie Walker’s equaliser.
Bridport were another side to win away from home, scoring a late winner to defeat ten-man Hallen 3-2.
A 5th minute penalty from Kyle Thomas had given the home side an early lead, before Bridport hit back to lead at the break following goals from Kameron Andrews and Dan Peach.
After namesake Scott had been dismissed, Kyle Thomas scored his second of the game to level things up, but Bridport had the last laugh, stealing all three points thanks to Tom Richardson’s 89th minute winner.
In the First Division, Chard Town moved into a three-way tie at the top of the table following a 9-1 thrashing of Bristol Telephones.
After scoring the winner last Saturday, James Boyland was very much the hero for Chard once again in Bristol, scoring four times as his side cantered towards an eighth league victory of the season.

It didn’t come easily, but Welton Rovers are back in the winner’s circle, scoring twice in the closing stages to snatch a 2-1 victory away at Sherborne Town.
Having fallen behind to Marc Caines penalty, Rovers required an 88th minute goal from Lewis Coleman to get back on level terms, before Will Hunter converted a spot-kick of their own to complete a dramatic victory.
Goals from Rory Worthington, Joe Williamson and Shannon Pocock saw Calne secure a 3-0 win at home to Wincanton, with Keynsham Town maintaining their pressure on the top four, after Tom Knighton, Michael Grist and James Ollis each scored during a 3-1 victory away at Warminster Town.
In what is turning into an increasingly unpredictable race for the top spots, big away wins for Devizes Town and Bishop Sutton saw them both move within six points of top spot despite lying ninth and tenth in the league respectively.
Devizes had no trouble at all in dispatching Portishead, with a first half treble from Jack Hopper followed by efforts from Matt Russell and Robbie Whyte during a 5-0 win at Bristol Road.
Bishop Sutton meanwhile, claimed a 6-1 win away at Longwell Green Sports, after scoring three times in either half of the contest.
Recent signing Kyle Box made an instant impact, scoring twice for his new side, with the other goals coming from Josh Keen, Liam Evans, Jack Goddard and Raphael Waugh.
Wells City overtook hosts Corsham, ending the weekend in sixth spot following a 3-2 win away at the Southbank Ground.
Goals from substitute Ben Wickens and Josh Bright had helped Corsham level things up after being two down, but Wells eventually pushed on to grab the three points, with Ryan Stiles, James Bayliss and Tom Clifford-Jones all scoring for the away side. Ashton & Backwell United came from behind to defeat Radstock Town, with Harry Walker volleying them level, before Sam Thomas headed home the third and final goal of the contest. |
