The central midfielder, who was previously with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division neighbours North Ferriby United, joins up with Dave Ricardo’s squad and made his bow in Saturday`s FA Vase Second Round defeat at Ebac Northern League side Shildon.
Ricardo has been quick to act since losing midfielder Tom Waudby to Ferriby last week, bringing in Birch, who has a wealth of experience at this level of football.
Having previously played at Bridlington Town, Scarborough Athletic, and Pickering Town, who were successful in NCEL promotion last season, Birch knows what it takes to win. He can add a sense of experience and firepower to an already strong Swans midfield.
Ricardo told the club`s website: “Eddie is a player that offers a great deal of experience and quality at a perfect age with the best years ahead of him.
“I know the style of play of both ourselves and Eddie will suit each other perfectly.
"Eddie’s attitude and personality means that he will fit perfectly with the rest of the guys. It’s well known that when you are doing well you need to recruit top level players and in Eddie we have that player”. |
