After
catching the eye playing for then-Ebac Northern League side Horden Colliery
Welfare, Hawkins joined Pools at the age of 17 in 2010 and went on to make his
senior debut two years later.
Hawkins was
then in and out of the side over the next couple of seasons and spent time on
loan with Spennymoor Town in a bid to get regular football.
Teesside-born
Hawkins was rewarded for his fine form in 2015/16 when he put pen-to-paper on a
new contract in April 2016 and was a regular component of the Pools’ engine
room for the past two seasons.
However, the
25-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance during 2018/19 and so Pools
boss Matthew Bates has allowed him out on loan to get some more regular
football under his belt.
Hawkins –
who has made 118 appearances for Pools – will remain with the Minstermen until
2nd January and made his debut against Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday. |
