The
experienced 30-year-old has joined Ramsbottom United after a very brief spell
with Clitheroe, having only left Widnes to join the Blues last month.
Rainford had
joined Widnes in the summer from Colwyn Bay and made 10 appearances, scoring
twice.
Rainford
started his career at Prescot Cables, before moving to Marine AFC in 2009 where
he made his name as a free-scoring hitman.
Spells at
Halifax Town, Chester FC, Connah`s Quay Nomads, Witton Albion and Glossop North
End followed before he joined Colwyn Bay in 2016.
Also joining
the new-look Rammy squad is Kieran Lugsden.
Kieran
joined with his brother Kelvin at Shaw Lane AFC prior to the start of the
2016/17 season as a striker.
Kieran then
adapted to playing in midfield and then at right-back, showing his skills as a
utility player.
He has had
spells previously with Radcliffe Borough, Altrincham, Witton Albion, Buxton and
Glossop, with whom he played in the FA Vase Final at Wembley in the defeat to
North Shields in 2015.
After the
sad demise of Shaw Lane this summer, Kieran re-united with brother Kelvin at
Rammy`s league rivals Droylsden. |
