Marc Harrison has resigned as manager of Bostik League North club Basildon United.

Harrison led the Bees into the Bostik North after winning promotion from the Essex Senior League last season.

 

He was appointed in May 2017 having led local rivals Basildon Town to a ProKit UK Essex Olympian League and cup `double`.

 

But following a club re-organisation, Harrison has decided to step down from his role.

 

A club statement read: "Following a club reorganisation, Marc Harrison has resigned as first-team manager with immediate effect.

 

"The club records it’s sincere thanks to Marc and his team for their hard work in a momentous period of the club’s history and wishes them well for the future.

 

"David Maxwell will be stepping into the role of joint-chairman with Lee Connor, who will oversee team affairs until a new manager is appointed".
