....a stunning 4-0 win at Valerie Park against Prescot Cables on Tuesday night.
The victory lifted them above their hosts and up into fourth place in the table.
Cables, who were beaten at Radcliffe last Saturday, fell behind in the 9th minute when the experienced Nialle Rodney fired home from the left edge of the box.
And the lead was doubled 6 minutes before half-time when another of several recent Rammy recruits, Nic Evangelinos, hit a shot through the keeper's legs.
Any hope of a Cables comeback were shattered 11 minutes into the second half when Ramsbottom`s goalkeeper Sam Ashton made it 3-0!
Ashton beat his opposite number Ben Barnes from a free-kick from fully 60 yards!
A shocked home side conceded a fourth goal less than a minute later through Jamie Rother.
And it could have been worse for the hosts as another new signing, sub Jamie Rainford, hit a post.
It looks like a comfortable win for Rammy, but their keeper Sam Ashton had to make several decent saves to keep a clean sheet.
Tuesday`s other game saw Droylsden secure a second win in four days after a 3-1 success against bottom of the table Skelmersdale United at the Butcher’s Arms.
Chances were few and far between in the first half but the Bloods took the lead after 32 minutes with one of them when Luke Daly intercepted an attempted clearance by Terry Smith in the Skem goal and made him pay with the opening goal.
The visitors equalised on 58 minutes when William Dunne punished a Dylan Smith foul on the edge of the area, beating the wall with his free-kick and finding the back of the net.
The Bloods were in front 6 minutes later when Sefton Gonzales scored his third penalty in two games after Liam Caddick was tripped in the area.
Droylsden made sure of the three points in stoppage time with a second for Daly from close range. |
