The
26-year-old former Chelsea prospect arrived from league rivals Hemel Hempstead
Town just in time to make a man-of-the-match debut performance in the Blues` 2-1
Essex Senior Cup win over another National League South outfit, Concord Rangers
on Tuesday night.
Clifford was
one of the last signings made for the Tudors by manager Dean Brennan.
But, shortly
after the midfielder made the move to Vauxhall Road, Brennan was installed as
the new Billericay manager.
Clifford
started his career with Chelsea and had loan spells with Colchester United and
Yeovil Town, making 20-plus League appearances and scoring once for the U`s.
He also had
a four-game spell in Belgium with Royal Antwerp before being released by the
Premier League giants.
He joined
Walsall in 2014 and made 16 first-team appearances for the Saddlers.
He spent 2015/16
with Boreham Wood, making 26 appearances with 2 goals, before returning to the
Football League with Crawley Town a year later.
He played 54
times for the Reds, scoring twice, and then signed for Hemel earlier this
season via a brief return to Boreham Wood.
However, Clifford
is cup-tied for Billericay’s Emirates FA Cup First Round tie at Chesterfield
tomorrow. |
