Eagle had only left Leiston to re-join league rivals and neighbours Lowestoft Town in October.

The midfielder developed through the Norwich City youth system.

He originally joined Lowestoft in January 2012 from Grimsby Town.

After signing for the Blues in the summer of 2017, Eagle made 29 appearances for Leiston in all competitions, netting once against Metropolitan Police.

In a short statement, Eagle told the club`s website: "Due to new management and family reasons, I’ve decided to go back to Leiston. I have enjoyed my time at Lowestoft as I always have but having been offered a new role at Leiston, I’ve made the decision to go back."

Lowestoft manager Jamie Godbold said: "Rob has U-turned and returned to Leiston as a player-coach under the new management there. It is a role Rob wanted to take up with Leiston for the geographical benefits to himself and also as that is the direction he wishes to take his football career long-term".
