Hebburn have announced the signing of Andrew Stephenson from reigning champions Marske United.
The 28-year-old midfielder is manager Scott Oliver’s seventh summer signing, and he joins having already won the Northern League and Buildbase FA Vase at South Shields and Spennymoor Town.
He made 190 appearances for Moors, scoring 51 goals, and more recently at Mariners Park he scored 11 goals in 50 appearances while also winning the Northern League Cup and Durham Challenge Cup.
Manager Scott Oliver told the club`s website: “I don’t think we’ve made a bigger signing yet. I think we’ve worked hard for this one – you can’t expect to sign players of this calibre easily.
“I know he wanted to come here, which made it a lot easier for us to finally agree on what we were going to do to get him here, but from a football point of view it’s fantastic he’s won everything there is to win if not twice!
“Our remit is to get somewhere along those lines in the coming year to two years, so if you’re going to achieve your goals you need to bring people in that have done it really.
“It’s another exciting one, a great one for the club. We’re building a good team here”. |
