Curran
joined Colne in 2017 following his release from
Blackburn Rovers, and has since gone on to represent the Red Army 87 times in
all competitions, scoring 43 goals.
The
club have sold the 20-year-old having failed to gain promotion, honouring a
gentleman's agreement between the chairman and the player when Curran signed
his previous extension.
The
highly-rated attacking midfielder has been subject to interest from a number of
clubs in the Football League and below, with Stockport finally securing his
services on a long-term deal.
Chairman
Ryan Haigh told http://www.colnefootballclub.com: “We are delighted Alex has
got the move he wanted into full-time football. His performances over the last
two years have been nothing short of outstanding and his personal record speaks
for itself. The model we have for the football club ultimately means that
players will progress and that can only benefit Colne FC”.
