As already reported, Chay Liddle has already agreed to sign for Shildon from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One East side Marske United.

And Liddle has been joined by Kurt Matthews, Danny Craggs and Jordan Lavery.

Matthews, who can play on either wing or as a central striker, has spent the last two seasons with league rivals Newton Aycliffe.

As a schoolboy he also played at Leeds United

Manager Daniel Moore told http://www.shildonafc.com: “Kurt is an ambitious young player that will grow and develop with us and is keen to make an impact at the club. His pace and athleticism in wide and central areas gives us a great option going forward.”

Central midfielder Craggs brings a wealth of experience signing from another league rival, Consett.

Last season he scored 21 goals from 46 appearances. He also won the Buildbase FA Vase while at Dunston UTS.

Lavery is a strong-tackling, left-sided player and a good passer of the ball, previously with Sunderland RCA and Consett.

Moore added: “The signings of Danny and Jordan will add experience and guile to a relatively young squad that finished the season well.

“Danny is a player that I’ve played with and against and always admired his quality, attitude and professionalism, his desire to win trophies and the want for a new challenge is a great match with the club.

“Jordan is a hungry lad with great quality and is one of the best left sided defenders in the league who wants to challenge himself and play as high as possible which is why he has taken on the task to help get the club promoted”.
