Dobson was captain of Chester`s all-conquering youth team last season who won the North West Youth Alliance Premier Division title, both league cups as well as captaining them to the National League Under-19's League Cup.

Dobson plays at the heart of the defence and follows in the footsteps of Kevin Exell and Tom Crawford (now at Notts County) in moving to Town.

Manager Chris Herbert told the club`s website: "Ryan has huge potential and a big future in the game. Although still young, Ryan plays beyond his years. He is quick, strong in the air and can definitely play football. I am made up to get him to Runcorn Town as there was a lot of interest in him and it's great that Ryan sees us as the place to progress his career.

"He was highly recommended by Chester`s youth team manager Callum McIntyre, who could not speak highly enough of him. Now it’s time for Ryan to come in knuckle down and make his potential work and push his career further like Kevin and Tom have done with us".
