Stow
have re-signed James Bradbrook from Bostik League Premier side Brightlingsea
Regent, bringing the goalkeeper back to the club he was loaned to during the
2017/18 season.
The
21-year-old has spent over a season honing his skills with Regent but has now
decided to return to the Old Gold & Blacks for the new season.
He
made 18 appearances while on loan at the club from Needham Market in 2017/18,
including four clean sheets, before being loaned to Brightlingsea until the end
of the season.
Bradbrook
made the move permanent last season, making 51 appearances.
Bradbrook
also spent time at Bury Town and becomes the second summer signing, following
the return of Dave Cowley.
His
former clubs include AFC Sudbury, Grays Athletic, Harlow Town and Thurrock but
he has also had experience in Spain and started out with West Ham United.
Cowley
scored 5 goals in 22 appearances during his previous spell at Greens Meadow,
between October 2017 and February 2018, and became an instant fans' favourite.
The
midfielder spent the rest of the 2017/18 campaign, as well as last season with Bostik
League South Central side Ware but has decided to return to Stow.
Meanwhile,
Stowmarket winger Scott Chaplin is to leave the club this summer, having agreed
to join new league rivals Mildenhall Town, who were relegated from the Bostik North
at the end of last season.
The
30-year-old agreed a one-year deal to join the Old Gold & Blacks for the
2018/19 season, returning to the home-town club where he played as a youngster
more than 20 years ago.
Chaplin
scored 8 goals in 40 appearances for Rick Andrews' side last season but has decided
to move to Mildenhall for the upcoming campaign.
Andrews
said: "I'm sad to see Chappers depart the club but understand his reasons
as to why.
"I
wish he had joined us four months earlier when he was at Felixstowe, as I
genuinely believe he would have got us over the line the previous season.
"He's
a great character and I wish him all the best."
The
club can also confirm that midfielders Max Melanson and Robbie Linford have
left Greens Meadow. |
