Left-back Porter moves to Hartsdown Park from league rivals Enfield Town.

He had signed for Enfield in February 2019 after being with AFC Hornchurch since August 2017, arriving from the now-defunct Thamesmead Town, where he had made over 120 appearances, including one in a successful Isthmian One North play-off final at Maldon & Tiptree in April 2013.

Porter himself is excited for a new chapter at the football club as he reveals how the move to Margate came about, telling http://www.margate-fc.co.uk: “At the end of last season, I was at Enfield and Margate boss Jay Saunders contacted me about joining. The first conversation we had was good and after that, I’ve heard really good things about the club, a couple of players I know have signed and I’ve been told great things about the manager and that’s brought me here.”

Centre-forward Richards joins Gate from the now-Vanarama National League South side Maidstone United, having risen through the ranks of the Stones` Kent Youth League teams before working with Saunders at the club’s academy.

Richards made his debut at The Gallagher Stadium as a first-year academy player back in 2015 before departing earlier in the summer.

Whilst with Maidstone, Richards went out on loan several times to clubs including Welling United, Sevenoaks Town, Tonbridge Angels and Faversham Town.

Speaking about his move to Hartsdown Park, the 20-year-old explained: “Having been at Maidstone for so long, I could never see myself leaving there, I thought I was going die in a Maidstone shirt to be honest! But with Jay coming to Margate and me wanting a new club, it was a perfect opportunity for me to come down and play and I’m really looking forward to it”.
