Robinson has extensive knowledge of the SSML and enjoyed success with Tring Athletic when as first-team coach they were runners-up to Chalfont St Peter, and as two spells as manager finishing in the top ten, four out of five seasons, winning the Herts Charity Cup and reaching two other finals in the process.

More recently he assisted Micky Hazard at Hadley where they reached the Third Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup, and a short spell at Edgware Town last season with Fergus Moore which was cut short due to a family bereavement.

Robinson takes over from Michael Parkin, who resigned in May due to work commitments.

Stotfold only retained their Premier Division place due to the FA`s restructuring of the non-League Pyramid.

The Eagles have also announced the appointments of Tony Armitage as development manager, having held youth and assistant-manager posts at Colney Heath, Tring Athletic, and Langford, and UEFA B licensed Matt Pring, who will join the existing senior management team of assistant boss Gary Burkett, first-team coach Darren Mitchell and the recently-appointed goalkeeping coach Brad Gillham.

Chairman Phil Pateman told his club`s website: "This is a very important season for Stotfold. The appointment of Julian is a statement of intent to push the club forward. This, along with the strengthening of our backroom staff will, we believe, serve us well in attracting quality senior and youth players to the club in this our last season at Roker Park which when at our new facility in Arlesey Road will hopefully help deliver Step 4 football in the future".
