The full-back leaves the Southern Division One South outfit after being crowned supporters` player of the year.

Binns is former Hartpury College student who arrived at the Foresters from rivals Evesham United where he spent four seasons.

Formerly with Newport County, he is a technically gifted footballer with a specialty for dead ball situations.

Cinderford manager Paul Michael told his club`s website: "Lewis had a great season with us after a few years at Evesham where it never really took off. He was always the professional with us and developed so much on the pitch over the season. It's an example to all of why this is a great club to play at as our players develop and attract so much attention."

Merthyr manager Gavin Williams added: “Lewis is an exciting signing and I’m delighted to welcome him to Merthyr. He will add great depth and quality to the squad. Left back has always been a position that has needed strengthening so to finally consolidate that position with Lewis is fantastic”.
