Defender Matthew Briggs joins from league rivals Maldon & Tiptree.

Briggs, who joined the Jammers in the summer of 2018, was the youngest player to have ever appeared in the Premiership having made his debut for Fulham at the age of 16.

During his career, Briggs has also had spells at Colchester United, Chesterfield and Peterborough United.

The 28-year-old is currently representing the Guyana national team and has previously represented England at different age groups, ranging from under-16 to under-21.

The SeedGrowers have confirmed the return of commanding central defender Luke Wilson.

Formerly with Billericay Town, Bowers & Pitsea and Grays Athletic, he left Coggeshall during the early part of last season after leading the club to the Thurlow Nunn League title in the 2017/18 season.

After leaving West Street, he signed for Heybridge Swifts and helped them win the Bostik North play-off final at the end of last season.

Whilst appearing for Coggeshall, Wilson went on to make 50 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals in the process.

Coggeshall manager Graeme Smith has signed a title-winning midfielder in persuading Matt Lock to move after claiming the Bostik North title with Bowers & Pitsea last season.

Lock has agreed terms with the SeedGrowers to become the club`s new player-coach.

Having joined Bowers in the later stages of last season, Lock was previously on the books of Maldon & Tiptree where he was captain.

With the Jammers, Lock led his side to a play-off final after an impressive season but narrowly missed out 1-0 in the final.

Lock has played at various levels across the country as well as a brief spell in Australia with Bunbury Forum Force.

His previous English clubs include Exeter City, where he made 3 League appearances, Team Bath, Tiverton Town, Mangotsfield United, Chelmsford City, Dover Athletic and Gloucester City.

Reece Dobson has also agreed to join the SeedGrowers after being with then-National League South side East Thurrock United at the end of last season.

A very talented and pacey player, he is a forward who can play through the middle or out wide.

He has previously had spells with Bishop`s Stortford, Hertford Town, Royston Town, Takeley, Harlow Town, AFC Sudbury, Needham Market and East Thurrock. He has also played at a professional level in Norway with Flekkeroy IF.

After the departure of goalkeeper Danny Sambridge to league rivals Grays Athletic, Smith has moved quickly in signing a replacement in the much-travelled Ashlee Jones.

He featured twice for the SeedGrowers last season on dual registration with Southern Division One Central side Bedford Town, including a memorable penalty shoot-out performance in the Bostik League Cup at home against Great Wakering Rovers but has now made the move a more permanent one.

He was in Southampton`s under-18 squad that reached the 2005 FA Youth Cup final and since then has embarked on a well-travelled non-League career that has taken in stops of varying lengths at the now defunct Rushden & Diamonds, Basingstoke Town, Crawley Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Lowestoft Town, Chesham United, Kingstonian, Darlington, Boreham Eood, Billericay Town, Wealdstone, Canvey Island, Harlow Town and joined Bedford from Braintree Town in January 2019.

And finally, after impressing for the SeedGrowers tenants, Thurlow Nunn League Division One South side Coggeshall United last season, Tom Blackwell has signed Bostik League forms for the 2019/20 season.

Being a local lad, Blackwell has great connections to the club and the silky attacker is stepping up several divisions to test himself.
