Ekpiteta Steps Up With Exiles
Central defender Marvel Ekpiteta has signed for SkyBet League Two side Newport County AFC from Vanarama National League South club Hungerford Town.

The 23-year-old is a ball-playing centre-back who can also be deployed as a full-back on either side of the defence.

 

He picked up a hat-trick of awards last season with Hungerford – being named managers`, supporters’ and players’ player of the season in a campaign where he made 45 appearances for the Crusaders.

 

Ekpiteta started his career alongside twin brother Marvin in the youth set-up at Oxford United. He also had a spell at Stevenage.

 

He joined Hungerford after spells with the likes of AFC Hayes, Bishop`s Stortford and Chelmsford City.

 

He captained Hungerford for the entirety of last season and has notched up more than 140 appearances for the clubs he has played for so far in his career.
