Exciting midfielder Cassidy joins after an impressive two-season spell with Consett AFC where he played a pivotal part in the Durham Challenge Cup success in 2017.

Initially joined the Steelmen on a month’s loan from Gateshead in 2016, however, a nasty injury suffered in a League Cup game against Norton & Stockton Ancients ruled him out for the rest of that campaign.

Upon his release from the Heed at the end of that season, Consett didn’t hesitate in securing his services on a permanent basis.

Talented striker McCarthy has experience of playing at a high level after coming through a Middlesbrough academy side in 2015 which at the time competed in the Under-21 Premier League.

He went on to score 2 goals in 9 appearances before leaving Boro for Bishop Auckland in 2015.

Following his time with the Two Blues, he joined Newcastle Benfield and became an important part of their team, scoring a hat-trick and earning the man of the match award in their game against Penrith in October 2018.

After announcing his departure from Benfield during the summer of 2019, Shields were quick to snap up the attacker who is renowned for his lightning speed and ability to score a spectacular goal or two.

Versatile defender Christensen has also signed.

He is a solid and experienced player who likes to get stuck in and will not shy away from a battle on the pitch.

He is comfortable playing anywhere across the defence and has often been described as having real leadership qualities.

He spent five seasons in total with Ashington before making the move at the start of last season to local rivals Whitley Bay.

After an impressive season with the Seahorses, the Robins fought off competition from a number of clubs to secure his services for next season.
