Bullard
joined the Blues in the summer of 2014 from Bury Town and played 179 matches over
five years, netting 14 times.
Overall,
Bullard made 219 appearances scoring 15 goals in total.
In his
time at the club, he helped skipper the side to two Suffolk Premier Cup final
victories and led the side to finishes of ninth, eighth, seventh and fifth to
help guide Leiston into the play-offs in the 2017/2018 season.
Bullard told
http://www.leistonfc.co.uk: “I’m sad to be leaving the club but it’s the right
time to step down and I now have a new challenge playing closer to home as
playing Step 3 football was becoming a strain on my business and family. I’ve
had five really good years with Leiston, lifting the Suffolk Premier Cup twice
and reaching the play-offs in 2018. I’ve also met some fantastic people. The
supporters, directors, chairman and management and I`d like to wish them all
the best for the season ahead.”
Leiston
manager Stuart Boardley said: “Bully has been a fantastic captain in his time
at Leiston. He just couldn’t commit to the level any longer and we respect his
decision and wish him all the best, but the offer was too hard to turn down
once Stowmarket had made an approach”. |
