The 26-year-old, ball-playing centre half joins Truro from South West Peninsula League Premier Division side Falmouth Town where he has played for the last three years.

Prior to that he played in America for two years.

Coming in at 6`2" in height, Ward makes for an intimidating presence on the field and his record backs this up, scoring 17 goals over the last two seasons.

The Cornishman has also captained the Kernow international team in May when they took on Barawa at Bodmin.

Truro manager Paul Wilkinson told http://www.trurocityfc.net: "James is a fantastic addition to the club. He is a strong, powerful, ball-playing centre half who has an eye for goal from set pieces.

"We're looking forward to working with him as we prepare for the new season".
