His
first two new signings were forward Tom Richardson from Bostik League North
side Aveley and defender Jake Hutchings from Bostik Premier outfit Merstham.
Now
he has brought in Ade Cole, Roman Michael-Percil, Aaron Lamont and Trey
Charles.
Midfielder
Cole is a former Blackpool youth who has also played for Enfield, Romford,
Grays Athletic and Canvey Island.
The
24-year-old signed for Driver at Leiston three years ago but left in the summer
of 2017 because of issues with the travelling up to Suffolk from East London.
He
joined Canvey Island in February 2019 from Grays where he was named in the
Bostik North team of the year at the end of the previous campaign.
Winger
Michael-Percil returns for a second spell at Cressing Road having been a key
part of the squad two years earlier.
Prior
to that, he had spells at Tottenham Hotspur, Billericay Town, Farnborough Town,
Metropolitan Police and Dulwich Hamlet.
Following
promotion via the play-offs, he left Cressing Road to join National League
South sides St Albans City and East Thurrock United before switching Bostik Premier
side Merstham - where he reached the play-off final – in January 2019.
Driver
has also snapped up 23-year-old midfielder Aaron Lamont.
A
product of the Queens Park Rangers academy, Lamont was in the Truro City side
that made the National League South play-offs and reached the First Round of
the FA Cup during 2017/18 season.
After
leaving Truro, he had a spell last season with National League South side
Hampton & Richmond Borough before joining Bostik Premier side Kingstonian.
Left-footed
winger Trey Charles, who can play on either flank, re-joins the Iron from Bostik
South Central side Northwood.
Formerly
with Luton Town as a youngster, Charles made his senior debut at St Albans City
during the 2012/13 campaign.
He
was dual registered with Northwood and Bedford Town in 2018/19 having joined
Bedford in November 2018 from Hitchin Town.
He
had been at Braintree earlier in the 2018/19 campaign after returning from
Scotland where he was on trial with Dundee United, where he turned down a
short-term contract.
His
other former clubs include Leverstock Green, Colney Heath, Arlesey Town,
Ampthill Town, Stotfold and Leighton Town. |
